Go to Flat Patties for…flat patties

There are few burger places in the Boston area that can compare to Flat Patties. Located in the Garage just off Harvard Square, Flat Patties serves fantastic food at even more fantastic prices. You may not want to bring a first date here, but it’s a good place to hang out after you’ve done some shopping in the Square or maybe touched up your “Mom” tattoo at Chameleon.

Flat Patties is on the first floor of the Garage complex in Cambridge, and while the decor leaves a bit to be desired, it’s no hole in the wall. This burger stop is not air conditioned, and does charge fifty cents for refills which, on a 90 degree summer day is not idea. However, if you’re looking for a no frills meal, Flat Patties serves up a truly magnificent burger. For less than the price of a Wendy’s medium meal, burger lovers can get their hands on a great cheeseburger (I ordered mine without sauce and it was still delicious) placed upon a perfectly toasted buttered brioche bun, and a small order of fries. The fries are crispy and well seasoned, and the burger lives up to the title — it is flat, but it packs in the flavor.

While seating is limited and usually the line is lengthy, both go to prove just how great the food truly is.

Sometimes you come home from College a little different than before
Sometimes you come home from College a little different than before
We’ve all had those moments. Coming home for school for a nice vacation at home, walking through the front door and there’s mom and dad with a cheerful: “Did you gain some weight?” Nice to see you too, guys.

Sometimes parents harp on certain aspects of our lives because they are worried about us. But if you are self-conscious about something already—say, your weight, or smoking, or even being shy—being called out on it all the time is far from helpful, and can be discouraging. Imagine finally feeling all right with your body and the shape you are in only to have your father tell you that you need to run more. Or being proud of yourself for having dropped down to two cigarettes a day only to have mom comment on how yellow your teeth are. Read more »
